Do meio local ao global: experiências didáticas em Educação Pré-Escolar e no 1.º ciclo do Ensino Básico

Abstract

O presente relatório de estágio resulta da realização da Prática de Ensino Supervisionada do 2.º ano do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, no ano letivo de 2025/2026. A escolha do tema “Do Meio Local ao Global: experiências didáticas em Educação Pré-Escolar e no 1º ciclo do Ensino Básico” surge da intenção de promover, desde a infância, uma compreensão progressiva do mundo que rodeia as crianças, partindo do seu meio local para a descoberta do planeta Terra, dos continentes e da diversidade existente à escala global. Este projeto procurou desenvolver nos alunos uma consciência espacial e geográfica, bem como atitudes de curiosidade, respeito e valorização da diversidade natural e cultural do mundo. As atividades propostas assumiram um papel central no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, uma vez que permitiram enriquecer as experiências educativas, motivar os alunos, ampliar as suas oportunidades de aprendizagem e favorecer o seu desenvolvimento integral. A abordagem do Meio Local articulada com a dimensão global revelou-se fundamental para ajudar as crianças a compreenderem o seu lugar no mundo e a relação entre os diferentes espaços e povos. O projeto realizou-se em contextos educativos da Educação Pré-Escolar e do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, numa instituição pertencente a um Agrupamento de escolas, localizado no concelho de Barcelos. Na Educação Pré-Escolar, as intervenções centraram-se na exploração do meio envolvente e na descoberta inicial do planeta Terra, através de atividades lúdicas e exploratórias. No 1.º Ciclo, o projeto foi implementado numa turma do 2.º ano de escolaridade, envolvendo 20 alunos, onde se aprofundaram conceitos relacionados com o globo terrestre, os continentes e a diversidade do mundo, recorrendo a estratégias diversificadas. As intervenções realizadas permitiram constatar o elevado interesse e envolvimento das crianças nas atividades propostas, bem como a sua evolução na compreensão do espaço geográfico, desde o meio local até à dimensão global. Os alunos revelaram entusiasmo nas descobertas realizadas e demonstraram maior consciência acerca da diversidade do planeta, evidenciando aprendizagens significativas e duradouras.

This internship report results from the Supervised Teaching Practice carried out in the second year of the Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education, during the 2025/2026 academic year. The choice of the theme “From the Local Environment to the Global: Discovering Planet Earth and the Continents” arises from the intention to promote, from early childhood onwards, a progressive understanding of the world that surrounds children, starting from their local environment and moving towards the discovery of Planet Earth, the continents, and the diversity that exists on a global scale. This project aimed to develop pupils’ spatial and geographical awareness, as well as attitudes of curiosity, respect, and appreciation for the natural and cultural diversity of the world. The proposed activities played a central role in the teaching-learning process, as they enriched educational experiences, motivated pupils, broadened their learning opportunities, and fostered their holistic development. The articulation between the local environment and the global dimension proved fundamental in helping children understand their place in the world and the relationships between different spaces and peoples. The project was implemented in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education contexts, in an institution belonging to a school cluster located in the municipality of Barcelos.In Early Childhood Education, the interventions focused on exploring the surrounding environment and on an initial discovery of Planet Earth through playful and exploratory activities. In Primary Education, the project was carried out in a second-grade class with 20 pupils, where concepts related to the globe, the continents, and world diversity were further developed, using diversified strategies. The interventions made it possible to observe a high level of interest and engagement among the children, as well as their progress in understanding geographical space, from the local environment to the global dimension. The pupils showed enthusiasm for the discoveries made and demonstrated greater awareness of the planet’s diversity, revealing meaningful and lasting learning.
