Land subdivision system at Agras Velhas (Tibães, Braga) and the roman cadastre of Bracara Augusta. Study of lines of continuity

Abstract

From the analysis of the land subdivision system at Agras Velhas (parish of Mire de Tibães, Braga), we came to realize the persistence of some demarcation lines that, somehow, became fossilized (older paths, division and property landmarks, water lines, among others…). The results of this regressive and crossed “reading” of the landscape allowed us to outline some continuities and transformations on the organization of the rural subdivision system in the city’s periphery.
