Technological advancement has never been so exponential as it is today. However, in the past machineries complemented human activity and were introduced in order to increase productivity. The advent and development of robotics made it possible to completely substitute human labour power. There are several studies that aim to find the risk of automatization of occupations across the world, but they are scarce in Portugal. Thus, the first objective of this study is to verify how susceptible workers are to the risk of computerization, according to their demographical characteristic and place of work using the classical linear regression model. Secondly, reproduce the Frey and Osborne (2017) study to verify how susceptible the occupation is to the automatization in Portugal, adapting to the Portuguese Classification system of Occupation. As the results show, 61.30% of all jobs in Portugal present risks higher or equal than 70% of being replaced by a computer. Nevertheless, looking at the characteristics of the workers, we see that women, young people, employees with low level of educational attainment and low income are more exposed to that risk, as well as those who work in large private and multinational companies.eng
