Desenvolvendo um projecto curricular integrado no Jardim-de-infância: um processo partilhado de construção de conhecimento

Abstract

Ao longo deste trabalho de investigação reflectimos sobre a importância da construção do conhecimento na criança em idade pré-escolar. O contexto de desenvolvimento influencia sempre a construção do conhecimento que poderá ser potenciada pela qualidade e quantidade das oportunidades que forem criadas para a criança pensar, reflectir, avaliar e tomar decisões. A qualidade das oportunidades está directamente relacionada com a gestão de um currículo adequado ao desenvolvimento que a criança tem e que se pretende que venha a ter como cidadã, com o conhecimento de si e do outro que lhe permita a intervenção responsável no seu contexto de vida. Assim, o Jardim-de-infância, se detentor de uma cultura de projecto, contribui para a construção de cidadãos mais curiosos, mais críticos, mais autónomos e mais responsáveis através da promoção de experiências de aprendizagem adequadas ao nível do desenvolvimento de cada uma das crianças, mas também significativas no contexto social e cultural onde a criança vive e se desenvolve. O desenvolvimento de um Projecto Curricular Integrado no Jardim de Infância a que intitulamos “Porque é mágica a nossa cidade?” parte de experiências que as crianças de um Jardim de Infância de Viana do Castelo vivenciam aquando das festas e romarias locais. Pretendemos apresentar o processo de construção partilhada de um conhecimento, que sendo essencialmente cultural, se vai construindo e reconstruindo com e pelas crianças, através de actividades integradoras, capazes de darem sentido a alguns dos seus conhecimentos, valores e tradições para além de constituírem importantes focos de aprendizagens significativas, investigativas, reflexivas e colaborativas. Recorrendo a uma metodologia de investigação-acção colaborativa, este projecto de pesquisa visa averiguar de que forma o desenvolvimento de um Projecto Curricular Integrado pode favorecer ou facilitar oportunidades e experiências favoráveis ao desenvolvimento das competências das crianças no Jardim-de-infância e, em simultâneo, a construção de conhecimentos adequados à continuidade dos seus estudos no ensino básico. Os resultados deste estudo demonstram que a integração curricular, concretizada em actividades integradoras, é motivadora, desafiante e construtora de conhecimentos mais profundos e complexos, mesmo tratando-se de uma realidade já conhecida. A partilha de conhecimentos, a procura de resoluções de problemas e questões comuns favorecem o desenvolvimento de competências características desta faixa etária, mas também fomentam a construção de conhecimentos relevantes para o nível de ensino subsequente. Os dados revelam ainda a importância do envolvimento das famílias e de outros agentes educativos no desenvolvimento do projecto, bem como na sua divulgação à comunidade.

Throughout this work of research / investigation we have thought over the importance of the construction of knowledge in a child in a pre-school age. The development context always influences the construction of knowledge, which can be strengthened by the quality and quantity of opportunities to be created, to make children think, reflect, evaluate and take decisions. The quality of the opportunities is directly related to the management (administration) of a curriculum suitable to a child development and to the development intended for her as a citizen in the future, with her self-knowledge as well as the other’s, which will allow the child a responsible intervention in her life context. So, if the Kindergarten has a culture of project, it will contribute to the construction of more curious, critical, autonomous and more responsible citizens, through the promotion of learning experiences suitable to the development level of each child, but also significant in the social and cultural context in which the child lives and develops. The development of a Curricular Project Integrated in the Kindergarten, called “How Magical Is Our City?” / “Why Is Our City So Magical?”, is based on experiences that the children of a nursery school in Viana do Castelo live in some traditional popular festive celebrations. We intend to present the process of a shared construction of knowledge, which being essentially cultural, is built and rebuilt with and by the children, through integrative activities able to give a meaning to some of their knowledge, values and traditions, besides representing important, significative, investigative, reflexive and collaborative learning focuses. Using a methodology of collaborative investigation-action, this research project intends to investigate which way the development of a curricular integrated project can support opportunities and experiences favorable to the development of skills of children in a nursery school, as well as the construction of knowledge adequate to the continuity of their studies in basic school. The results of this study make it evident that curricular integration, concretized in integrating activities, is motivating, defying and constructive of deeper and more complex knowledge, even concerning a well known reality. The sharing of knowledge, the search of solutions for the problems and common questions helps the development of skills characteristic of this age group, but they also stimulate the construction of a kind of knowledge relevant for the next level of learning. The data also reveals the importance of the involvement of the families and other educative agents in the development of the project, as well as in its divulgation to the community.
