A relação complementar entre Tradução e Cultura: um desafio no Museu de Olaria

Abstract

O turismo e a tradução estão unidos diretamente por um laço estritamente necessário para um mundo globalizado como o nosso. Esta complementaridade surge no sentido de dar oportunidade ao conhecimento da cultura, das vivências e das tradições daqueles que são amantes de viagens e de descobrir novos mundos através da Tradução. No âmbito do Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue, foi realizado o estágio, com a duração de três meses no Museu de Olaria. O presente relatório de estágio tem como tema principal a Tradução Especializada no ambiente museológico, cuja Cultura está adjacente no património que dá a conhecer. Um conteúdo tão específico como o de Olaria permitiu uma análise pormenorizada tanto a nível teórico como prático concentrando-se no Figurado de Barcelos. O trabalho realizado centrou-se maioritariamente na retroversão, nas línguas inglesa e espanhola e com uma carga de trabalho intensa que abrangeu desde a pesquisa, análise, tradução e revisão. Relacionando o Turismo Cultural com as várias temáticas da tradução, este relatório focar-se-á na análise da importância da Tradução Especializada para a divulgação da Cultura.

Tourism and Translation are directly united by a bond strictly necessary to our globalized world. This complementarity emerges in order to give opportunity in the provision of cultural knowledge, of experiences and traditions of those who are travel enthusiasts and to discover new worlds through Translation. Thus, this internship was carried within the scope of Masters in Multilingual Translation and Communication for the duration of three months. The present report’s main theme is Specialized Translation in the museology environment, whose the Culture is adjacent in the heritage that it presents. The so-specific content such as Pottery, allowed a detailed analysis not only in the theoretical level, but also in the practical level focused on the Figurado de Barcelos. The study conducted was focused predominantly in the reverse translation, in the Spanish and English languages with an intense amount of work such as research, analysis, translation and revision. In relating Cultural Tourism to the several translation themes, this report will focus on the importance of Specialized Translation to the dissemination of Culture.
