Minimização do desperdício de papel na impressão rotativa numa empresa portuguesa de artes gráficas

Abstract

Esta dissertação apresenta um projeto desenvolvido na empresa de artes gráficas Lidergraf, durante o estágio curricular no âmbito do Mestrado em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial, tendo como o principal objetivo reduzir o desperdício de matéria-prima e tempo no processo de impressão rotativa. A metodologia de investigação utilizada foi a Action Research, sendo que numa fase inicial foi efetuada uma revisão bibliográfica sobre o conceito de Lean Production aplicado à Indústria das Artes Gráficas, onde o foco foi essencialmente nas ferramentas, princípios e tipos de desperdício. De seguida foi realizada uma análise recorrendo a diagramas de causa-efeito, estudos do tempo de setup. Também foram criados indicadores tais como, o Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) e quantificados os desperdícios. Através desta análise foi possível identificar os principais problemas presentes na secção de impressão rotativa, tais como os elevados tempos de setup e baixa disponibilidade da máquina de impressão rotativa M600. Para solucionar este problema foi apresentada uma proposta de melhoria baseada na revisão bibliográfica, neste caso a metodologia SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die). Com aplicação desta metodologia na secção de impressão rotativa, mais especificamente na máquina de impressão rotativa M600, foi possível alcançar uma redução de 28% no tempo de setup e 42% na distância percorrida pelos operadores.

This dissertation thesis presents a project which was developed at the graphic company Lidergraf, during the traineeship carried out in the Industrial Management and Engineering Masters. Where the main aim was to reduce waste of pape and time on the web offset printing production process. In this study, the used investigation methodology was the Action Research method. At na early stage, a literature review about Lean Production applied to the Graphic Industry was performed, where the main focus was tools, principles and types of waste. In addition to the literature review, an analysis was carried out, using the cause.effect diagram, study of setup times, and also the creation of some performance indicators such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and waste quantification. Through this analysis was possible to identify the main problems present in this web offset printing section, such as high setup times and low availability of the machine M600. In order to find solutions for these problems, based on the literature review, improvement proposals were presented, like the implementation of SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die) methodology. With the application of this methodology on the M600 machine, there was a gain of 28% for the setup time and 42% for the distance covered by the workers.
