Pandemia e (des)informação: mídia, imaginário e memória

Abstract

Com um prefácio de Edgar Morin, Pandemia e (des)informação: Mídia, imaginário e memória apresenta as intervenções dos conferencistas no V Seminário da Rede de Investigação JIM - Jornalismo, Imaginário e Memória, que se realizou por via remota, em 2021, consagrado à Pandemia e à Desinformação. Os investigadores que intervieram neste Seminário e escreveram os textos aqui publicados são predominantemente brasileiros, mas também de Portugal e da França. Assinalo as suas distintas origens: da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS); da Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina (UniSul); da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF); da Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF); da Universidade Federal do Maranhão (UFMA); da Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB); da Universidade do Minho (UMinho); e ainda, da Universidade Paul Valéry – Montpellier III. Sendo todos investigadores de Ciências da Comunicação, o problema com que se confrontaram todos os autores desta investigação (em rede) foi a tempestuosa relação que se estabeleceu entre o sistema de informação e a pandemia da COVID - 19, porque a mediação desta relação deixou de ser exercida apenas pelos jornalistas. A pandemia trouxe outros atores para o espaço público, designadamente a classes política e a classe médica. Estas circunstâncias, desconhecidas de todos os cidadãos, trouxeram uma grande confusão ao espaço público, o que afetou sobremaneira o sistema mediático, com a informação a converter-se, muitas vezes, em desinformação.

With a preface by Edgar Morin, Pandemic and (dis)information: Media, imaginary and memory presents the interventions of the speakers at the V Seminar of the JIM Research Network - Journalism, Imaginary and Memory, which was held remotely, in 2021, consecrated to the Pandemic and Misinformation. The researchers who intervened in this Seminar and wrote the texts published here are predominantly Brazilian, but also from Portugal and France. I point out their different origins: from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS); from the University of Southern Santa Catarina (UniSul); from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF); from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF); from the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA); from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB); from the University of Minho (UMinho); and also, from Paul Valéry University – Montpellier III. As all Communication Sciences researchers, the problem faced by all the authors of this (networked) investigation was the tempestuous relationship that was established between the information system and the COVID-19 pandemic, because the mediation of this relationship is no longer be exercised only by journalists. The pandemic brought other actors into the public space, namely the political class and the medical class. These circumstances, unknown to all citizens, brought great confusion to the public space, which greatly affected the media system, with information often becoming desinformation.
