(A) simetrias de género no acesso às Engenharias e Ciências no Ensino Superior Público

Abstract

Tendo em conta que a maior parte das informações sobre a feminização do Ensino Superior em Portugal é geralmente apresentada por grandes áreas de formação, pretendemos, neste artigo, avaliar a frequência de rapazes e raparigas, as médias de candidatura ao Ensino Superior, bem como a opção de candidatura ao Ensino Superior em determinados cursos que integram as áreas habitualmente designadas de “Ciências, Matemáticas e Informática” e “Engenharias, Industrias Transformadoras e Construção”. Os resultados apontam para a necessidade dos estudos ao nível da União Europeia e Portugal terem em consideração campos mais específicos de formação, para que se possam implementar acções de intervenções mais adequadas e fundamentadas numa imagem real da situação.

Given that most information about the feminization of Higher Education in Portugal is usually performed by large areas of education we intend, in this paper, to evaluate the frequency of boys and girls, the means of candidature to Higher Education and the option of candidature for Higher Education in certain courses that integrate the areas commonly referred to as "Science, Mathematics and Informatics" and "Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction". The results indicate the need for studies at the European Union and Portugal taking into account the more specific fields of education, so they can be implemented most appropriate interventions, based on a real picture of the situation.
