Reciclagem de resíduos de construção e demolição

Abstract

A presente dissertação, está integrada no plano de estudos do Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Civil da Universidade do Minho. Portugal é um país em que o setor da construção civil é caracterizado como responsável pela produção de um volume expressivo de resíduos. Esse volume expressivo, além de provocar consequências negativas ao meio ambiente, proporciona também impactos financeiros nos custos das obras. Quanto ao impacto ambiental provocado e visto o potencial de reutilização e reciclagem dos RCD, estes foram identificados pela EU como fluxo de resíduos prioritários. Tanto Portugal, como Espanha e Grécia, tem uma taxa de reciclagem e reutilização de RCD inferior a 15%, ao contrário da Alemanha, Dinamarca e Holanda que apresentam uma taxa superior a 90%, o que mostra claramente que a Europa no que diz respeito a esta matéria é muito heterogénea (BIO Intelligence Service et al., 2011). Face a esta controvérsia, nesta dissertação procurou-se estudar a reciclagem dos RCD de forma a caracterizá-los e assim encontrar entidades licenciadas para o tratamento dos mesmos, privilegiando uma produção controlada, recurso à triagem, à reciclagem e a outras formas de valorização. Espera-se então, que a importância da reciclagem dos RCD fique cada vez mais vincada entre os intervenientes de forma a diminuir os depósitos ilegais em aterros e consequente redução da extração de materiais naturais.

This dissertation is part of the study plan of the Integrated Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Minho.
