Educational technology, due to its attractiveness, can be an important resource for children with ASD, helping to mediate and reinforce interventions aimed at improving the areas that characterise the ASD phenotype, namely social communication. The aim of this study was therefore to analyse and understand the importance of educational technology in the development of social communication in children with ASD. To respond to this objective, an RSL was carried out in order to select scientific articles that would allow us to understand and analyse the phenomenon under study in depth. The thematic analysis technique was used to analyse the data. To carry out the RSL, three databases (ERIC, Web of Science and Scopus) and four eJournal Collections (Elsevier, IEEE Xplore, Taylor & Francis Online and Springer) were consulted. In the context of the previously established RSL protocol, the inclusion and exclusion criteria were also indicated, which allowed us to identify nine articles for data processing and analysis. The main results include: the majority of the studies were carried out by researchers unknown to the child, in artificial, insignificant and unsafe environments; a diversity in the use of educational technology, including tablets, computers, robots, smart bracelets, virtual and/or augmented reality learning environments, educational software, stories and digital narratives. Among the results, in our opinion, the advantages are that technology favours equity and the inclusion of the child, since it allows age group suitability, adaptation and individualisation, predictability, responding to the child's needs and interests and the frequent use of images and playfulness. The disadvantages of the results found were the complexity of the technology, its limited use in research, excessive use as an increase in behavioural changes and the excessive costs associated with some technologies. In conclusion, the use of educational technology as a complementary tool should be a commitment that generates opportunities and equity in supporting children with ASD and their families.por
